We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. We did our best to get a break ourselves with some of us heading to the ocean and others to the mountains. But we’re back now in the excitement of the farm.
Our tomatoes are beginning to ripen, which means that for the rest of summer and fall, every shirt and face will be colored red here on the farm. We again are planning on a large harvest of heirloom varieties this year, and we’re hoping that our customers are as fond of tomatoes as we are!
We’ll begin harvesting melons this week as well. Melons too, are not something we do in moderation, so eat up. The tomatillos, okra, beans, and eggplants are on their way. We’ve had a tough year with pests- it seems we’re winning on the cucumber front, but definitely not with the squash. We’ve also begun planting in our greenhouse for late season veggies.
We’ve put the sheep and rams together again, so we’re hoping for numerous baby lambs this Christmas season. As some of you know, we’re working to build our flock of sheep, both to sell and to use in our rotational grazing system.

We took 50 chickens this past week and will have those available this week at market. We also will have lots of fresh, high-end steaks if you didn’t get your grilling in this past weekend. As always, please send any requests- it helps us pack for markets. We will also be creating new bulk package deals for the school year and holiday season. Hopefully we’ll be able to provide you with good deals and make our markets easier on us.
In that same vain, don’t forget our store is open Thursdays 2-6 and Saturdays 10-4.

Finally, we’re excited about revamping our website. The new site will hopefully be easier to navigate, include recipes and cooking tips from chefs and customers, events and news within the food community, an interactive space for discussion, and new package deals for purchasing meat. We’ll be sure to let everyone know when the site gets launched.
See you at market,Cane Creekers
