Ross Flynn

Ross Flynn - Ross is a utility player at the farm, working with the animals, in the gardens, and assisting in day-to-day operations. He also works in the farm office, keeping track of communications, logistics, and organizing marketing campaigns. You can find Ross Saturdays at the Greensboro Farmers Market. Ross is from Ohio and is a graduate of Miami University with degrees in Geography and History. Before coming to Cane Creek in September 2008, Ross worked with at-risk youth in a wilderness therapy program and traveled abroad. In the future he plans on continuing to work within the food system, with hopes to make healthy, ethically-raised food accessible to people of all backgrounds.

Nick Zigelbaum

Nick’s background is in mechanical engineering, marine construction, high-efficiency green building design and international energy and environmental advocacy. After recognizing that the global survival issues we face as a species are most effectively confronted on a local level, he decided to up and quit the city life, get his hands dirty and grow some good food. Nick primarily manages livestock on the farm but, like everyone, works wherever he is needed. Nick has worked and lived on the farm with Kate, his incredible girlfriend, since June 2010. Kate MacLean

Kate is Eliza’s younger cousin from New England. She moved to Snow Camp with her handsome boyfriend, Nick, in the summer of 2010 after leaving her office-jockey job at Facebook. She manages our vegetable crops and livestock along with Nick. In addition to the farm, she is a practicing doula.

Howard Faust

Howard works primarily with the cows, every day of the week. He ensures the fences stay electrified, the cows have enough hay during the winter and he rotates them from paddock to paddock for fresh grass. Howard is a long-time farmer, having worked on nearly every acre in Alamance county.

Sarah and her Husband Nate Perry moved to Graham, NC in the summer of 2004 after living in the Atlanta metro area for several years. “We were lured by places like Weaver Street Market and the small town community feel of Alamance and Orange Counties.”

By 2006, they had met a number of influential members of the growing ‘local’ movement in Alamance County and also became members of the Burlington Biodiesel Co-op. “I was thrilled to find a growing group of people and businesses in Alamance County who are interested in building local community, supporting local agriculture and local economy, promoting sustainability and who see the merits of environmental and social responsibility.” When Cane Creek Farm approached Sarah to take over the maintenance and ongoing development of the this website, Sarah said “Heck Yeah!” Sarah is the owner of Think Web Solutions, a local website development company.

Eliza Sydnor

Eliza Sydnor is the daughter of Charles. She was born and raised here on the farm. Eliza’s main job is training horses and riders in dressage. She works primarily on “the other side of the farm” with the horses. You can read about that part of her life at www.elizasydnordressage.com.

Eliza tries to help organize the chaos here from time to time and occasionally sells at farmers’ markets, and keeps her father in-line when he needs it.
